about sfcutters SF Cutters are the World's first Apple Final Cut Pro User Group forming in March of 2000. That's right, the concept of a DV User Group, complete with networking, screenings and tech info centered around Apple Final Cut Pro was born right here in San Francisco. Currently there are 66 chapters of Final Cut Pro and ProApps User Groups based upon our model. We are proud to be the founders of this exciting movement, dubbed in 1999 as "The DV Revolution". Viva! • March 2000: Founded by San Francisco editors: Kevin Monahan, Sharon Franklin and Liza Maine Seybold. • Serving Apple ProApps Users in the San Francisco Bay Area and worldwide. • Gathering the finest editors in film, video; • 2005 Focus expanded to All Apple Pro Apps. Other goals include community outreach and growing our organization. Meeting Overview : What happens at our monthly meetings? • Technical Q and A: Get your tough questions answered about media and post-production. • Members' screenings: Screen your work and view other member's work. • Industry leaders present hot information: We strive to bring the best guests to speak to the group. • Product giveaways: All members are provided specials and benefits. We also have our "World Famous Raffle" at the end of the meeting that always includes goodies that film folks love. • Networking: Each meeting provides a golden opportunity to network and meet other editors, producers and filmmakers. We also offer an active listserve as part of being a member. We hope you will join us at a future meeting, and that you subscribe to our mailing list. The discussion is lively and always informative.
